Dental Implants
A fixed, natural-looking replacement for a missing tooth, anchored in the jaw.

What it is
A dental implant is a small titanium post placed in the jawbone where a tooth is missing. Once the bone has bonded to it, a crown is fixed on top. Implants do not rely on neighbouring teeth for support, and they look and chew like a natural tooth.

How it goes
- 1
Assessment
Examination and imaging to check the bone and plan the position.
- 2
Placement
The implant is placed under local anaesthesia.
- 3
Healing
The bone bonds to the implant over the following weeks.
- 4
Crown
A custom crown is fixed on top to complete the tooth.
Questions patients ask
Is the procedure painful?+
It is done under local anaesthesia. Most people describe mild soreness afterwards that is managed with routine painkillers.
How long do implants last?+
With good oral hygiene and regular check-ups, implants are a long-term solution. Smoking and uncontrolled diabetes raise the risk of problems.
